Newsflash. Hothouse content is political. Whether we’re talking about politics or not. Because everything is political.

And as Hothouse starts to get active communicating for community we’ll be elevating information pertinent to the Australian federal election with content that challenges some of the garbage being spruiked by some players in the race to rule Canberra. And sharing content that could sway peoples opinions during an election period has strings attached. And those strings are strung by the rules and regulations of the Australian Electoral Commission.

So to avoid the ire of the AEC, or having to dust off the suit for a court date, we’ll be making sure our content, accounting and reporting is all compliant.

But playing by the rules is only part of the story, because you can still get away with telling pork pies while being electorally compliant. Our organisational mission is to source and share relevant and factually accurate information through entertaining content and creative projects. It’s a vibe.

Want to donate to the Hothouse platform? There may be a few extra rules, check boxes or information required when flicking us some dosh but it helps keep our operations above board and ticketyboo.
